CCHOPE ELECTION

AGREEMENT BETWEEN TWO CANDIDATES IN AN ELECTION RACE If two candidates in an election race enter into a contract that whoever loses in the convention should not run against the winner, can the latter sue for breach of contract the loser who, despite the agreement, insisted on running as a rebel candidate? No. The suit will not prosper because the agreement is contrary to public policy, political rights being outside the commerce of men. See Saura v. Sindico, L-13403, March
